The software behind Install-It-Direct and Sequoia Outdoor

Know which marketing makes you money.

ContractorIQ follows every lead from the first click or call to the signed contract, then gives every channel you pay for a verdict each month: feed it, hold it or kill it.

Marketing

Feed what closes. Kill what doesn't.

Ad platforms count clicks and calls. You need signed jobs. ContractorIQ keeps the source on every lead all the way to the signed contract, then judges each channel on what it closed. Pick a channel.

Cost to win vs gross profitNo closed jobs

Cost to win vs gross profit is what each closed job cost in marketing, as a share of the gross profit on that job. ContractorIQ calls it CAC vs GP.

$54,000a year

In this sample month, Meta, Houzz and Angi cost $4,500 and closed nothing, so each one carries a Kill verdict. Cut them and the budget goes to the channels marked Feed, where a closed job cost between $450 and $1,600 to win.

The source stays on the lead.

Web forms, phone calls and texts arrive with their source attached, and it follows the lead to the contract. When a lead came in two ways, the credit is split, so no channel is counted twice.

A verdict every month.

Feed, Hold or Kill, judged only on leads old enough to have closed. ContractorIQ learns your sales cycle from your own recent closes, and a source that is too new says Too early instead of guessing.

AI search is a channel now.

ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Copilot are tracked as sources next to Google and Yelp, so you can see what AI search sends you and what it closes.

Sales

Close at the kitchen table.

Your rep walks in with a presentation made for that one homeowner: their yard, their design, their price, and a contract ready to sign.

Built from the project.

Pick a before photo and the design, press Generate, and the slides fill in from the project. Nobody stays up building slides.

Priced from the estimate.

Good, better and best come straight from your estimate, in dollars and per month.

Signed on the spot.

DocuSign is built in, and the signed contract files itself to the project.

Every rep, the same deck.

Every presentation starts from the same template, so your newest rep walks in with the same deck as your best one.

Follow-up

More signed jobs from the leads you already have.

Every working lead carries a closing percentage, a close date, a next meeting and a price, so the pipeline adds up to a forecast instead of a list. Follow-up email runs until the lead books or closes.

$55,040

at 85% likely, with no next meeting on the calendar. A lead that goes quiet is marketing money that did nothing.

Estimates

Know the margin before you sign.

Every estimate is built from your own product catalog. Wizards bundle what belongs together, so the delivery, the pallet pickup and the edge restraint make it onto every paver job. Every line carries its cost, and the gross profit on the whole job is on screen before the client sees a price.

Switch the wizard off to see what a rushed estimate costs.

Jobs

Jobs that run without you in the truck.

Each job runs a phase-by-phase checklist with photo and video evidence per step. Missing evidence is counted, not assumed, so the work nobody sees afterward is on file before the pavers go down. Tap a step.

Why it exists

Built by the owner who kept finding out at the end.

I started Install-It-Direct in 2009. The software sold to contractors was built for service calls: a truck, a ticket, an invoice. A sixty-thousand-dollar backyard is a different business. It has a design, a permit, a product catalog, a crew, a schedule, and a margin that can disappear in the last week, and I was finding out about the margin when the job was over. The tools we tried did not carry the money through the job, so we built our own and ran the company on it. It has been in production since 2017 and now runs both of our companies. If you run a firm like ours, it will probably fit yours.

Fit

Built for firms like ours.

For

Residential outdoor-living design-build: pavers, turf, hardscape, outdoor kitchens, pergolas, lighting, drainage. Sales reps who quote at the kitchen table. Crews or subs paid by the job. Roughly $1.5M a year and up.

Not for

Service-call businesses: HVAC, plumbing, maintenance routes, repairs billed by the hour. Jobber, ServiceTitan and Housecall Pro are built for that. ContractorIQ is built for the project business.

Licensing

How it works.

  1. Get on the list

Leave your email below. You get a walkthrough of the live system by email, then a short note each time something ships.

  2. A conversation when a seat opens

Seats open a few at a time so each firm gets set up properly. When the next one opens, the list hears first. If it fits, a thirty-minute screen share with one of your real jobs.

  3. Your own instance

yourcompany.contractoriq.io, with your product catalog and pricing loaded, your open leads imported, and your team trained on the screens above. Priced on the call. Your data exports to CSV at any time.
